Welcome to Derby Cathedral

Holy Week & Easter Services

Our special services for this holiest of weeks in the Christian calendar begins with three consecutive addresses by the Bishop of Derby on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday starting at 18:30. The bishop’s addresses are entitled Readings in St John’s Gospel, and each night Bishop Libby will be offering a reflection on a different passage from St John’s Gospel. After each address there will be time for silent reflection and then, led by members of Derby Cathedral Choir, there will be sung compline.

Most of our services during Holy Week and at Easter are livestreamed, so if you are not able to be with us in person please do join in online here.

A message from the Dean

A big welcome from Derby Cathedral!

Derby Cathedral aims to enhance and enrich the lives of its communities by providing inspiring worship, high quality music, pastoral outreach and arts and culture events to the communities of Derby and Derbyshire.

We are delighted to be able to open our doors and start to recover from the effects of the past 18 months.  Our thanks to everyone who has supported the Cathedral in this time, and a particular acknowledgement to the government’s Culture Recovery Fund for enabling the development of the new website.

Everyone is welcomed here.  We look forward to seeing you.

Situated in the heart of the city centre

Welcome to the Cathedral Church of All Saints Derby.  This is a jewel of a building, glittering with life and colour especially when the sun shines through the clear glass windows.  There are many fascinating monuments around the walls which tell an unfolding history of a thousand years.  As a place of sanctuary and worship, you are invited to visit, and appreciate the calm and space for reflection and prayer.

All Saints’ Church was hallowed as a Cathedral in 1927 with the creation of the new Diocese of Derby.  Over this time, Derby Cathedral has sought to serve the bishops and parishes of the Diocese, together with all who live and work in the city and county.
