Her Majesty the Queen Her Majesty the Queen at Derby Cathedral for Maundy Service

The Royal Maundy Service at Derby Cathedral went superbly well with HM The Queen looking radiant in a light blue outfit on a chilly but sunny day.

84 men and 84 women from across the region were presented with Maundy gifts from The Queen in front of a packed Cathedral.

Many spoke of their pride and joy at being chosen for this award.

Outside the Cathedral there were huge crowds as The Queen and Prince Philip emerged from the Cathedral at the end of the service to pose for pictures with many of the children who had taken part.

It was a great day for Derby, a super day for the Cathedral and one those receiving the gifts will never, ever, forget.
