Derby Cathedral and HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee
Derby Cathedral is delighted to be taking a full part in celebrating HM The Queen’s Jubilee: There will be a major concert on Saturday 26 th May featuring “Royal Music” and the Cathedral Choir. There will be a Jubilee Service on Sunday 27 th May at 3.00pm. During this service the exterior Bakewell Gates, presently away for restoration, will be dedicated following their return – the restoration has been paid for by the Lieutenancy in Derbyshire as a thank offering for the Queen’s two visits to the Cathedral in recent years. And a “Big Lunch” is planned for Sunday 3 rd June as part of the national “Big Lunch”, to follow The Eucharist in the Cathedral.
